What to do with a pantry?

 What to do with this space? We had to gut all existing shelves due to nasty chemical spills and odor, not to mention the past shelving's pure visual assault on clean design. Now we're left with a freshly skim-coated, closet-sized space ready for my canned goods - but how to organize it?

This is where I'd poll the audience if I had one, minor detail. Since active participation will be limited, I did second best and I polled internet images, thank you google images. These two images capture great ways to maximize my space, utilize clean design, mix open shelves, baskets and drawers while managing to stick to a budget that cannot afford more cabinetry nor anything too complex that will take a lot of time.
