A Weekend Of Guest Laborers and Many Projects

Gregg and I have fallen into a familiar house work pattern:

Rachel
Thursday: Fly home super late, see chaotic house but head straight to bed :)
Friday: Amongst conference calls, do dishes, fold laundry, clean up
Saturday/Sunday: Projects all day with random breaks to enjoy each other
Monday: Fly back off to Illinois and the comforts of hotel living

Gregg
Monday-Thursday: Live in chaotic, hot house. Sporadic projects/laundry throughout week.
Tuesday: Drag out bags upon bags of trash from previous weekend's projects
Thursday: Rejoice that his better half is home and tell her to do dishes/fold laundry (not really but I am adding it anyway!)
Saturday/Sunday: Projects all day with random breaks to enjoy each other

This past weekend, we had the much needed treat of having others join in our weekend routine. The only problem is we quickly forget how insanely we are driven to bring these projects to completion and for the future have to come up with more guest-friendly projects.

Here are some photo highlights of what we did:

Friday:
Mopped living room and laid out tentative furniture/carpet placement (this will change as soon as we buy new furniture and flat screen TV). Prepped pull-out couch for Jax.
Gregg devoted most of his time Friday evening and Saturday morning to finishing the bathroom prep, sanding, removing dust, lots of fun stuff.

(hallway to bathroom) Attempting to keep the mess to a minimum
New architectural ceiling block placed to cover new plumbing, nicely sanded
 Saturday:
Jaci arrives and we throw her right into work! She made the mistake of saying she was up to whatever so her and I stripped paint in the dining room and dug out excess dirt from side-yard.
Jaci slaving away (it was REALLY hot too)

Two interesting things to note from this photo:
1) Gregg's hair color. No this house has not made him  go gray but this is leftover dust from sanding earlier
2) Gregg is the one handling the wheelbarrow. My handling skills were lacking and I was really glad when he jumped in to handle the heavy lifting :)

After lunch, Mark and Sass arrived and we threw them into building furniture projects. First off, our new patio set. Second, our daybed for the guest room.
Sass attacked the table construction like a pro
